Life Balance Coaching with Jeffrey D. Brown

Life Balance Coaching is a personally-tailored approach to life coaching that helps you discover ... and enjoy ... that dynamic sense of balance for being at your best that comes from living your purpose in business and life.

Who is Jeffrey D. Brown?

Hi!

That's me, Jeff Brown.
I'm the founder of Artful-Balance.com.

I am also a Speaker, Facilitator, Writer, and Life Coach who specializes in Life Balance, Personal Effectiveness, Progressive Wellness, and Leadership Development Programs.

I work with people to help them develop a lifestyle that is rich, comfortable, and fulfilling ... the kind of toleration-free life they have always dreamed of living.

My clients include highly gifted creative individuals of all ages -- business owners, executives, internet professionals, alternative healthcare practitioners, dance choreographers, emerging coaches I mentor -- and other people who want assistance with redesigning themselves, their businesses, and their lives, crafting more effective and ultimately satisfying ways of sharing their gifts with the world.

The name of my special brand of personal and professional life coaching is Artful-Balance Coaching. I am also the founder of Attract A Rewarding Life, a Life Coaching and Leadership Development service that offers coaching, workshops and programs that help people get the kind of life they really want.

As a coach, writer and presenter, I am interested in my clients' success and well being. To this end, I help people focus on developing essential skills for better living, including emotional intelligence, personal effectiveness, and a lifestyle grounded in the principles of progressive wellness and spiritual living.

What is a personal coach?

A personal coach is someone who works with individuals to help them get where they want to go more quickly and easily.

The focus may be on personal growth, on one's career path, on reaching a specific goal, or on giving honest and objective feedback... there are many aspects to personal coaching and all of them, in essence, relate to the individual.

Most coaches work by phone or in person, with each client having several coaching sessions per month.

Many highly successful people hire a coach with the goal of gaining just that extra little edge that they need to attain success in a competitive world. As time goes by they often find that not only do their careers thrive with coaching, but that they become more attuned to their personal values and are more able to be guided by them. Their personal lives become better balanced, and they discover a deeper and more satisfying authenticity to living.

Increasingly, people who might not yet be described as highly successful are also hiring coaches.

They realize that they and their careers are worth the investment, and that investing time and attention this way that will help them to be their best. For them, too, the initial goal of outward success is usually achieved, though no guarantees can be made, for the ongoing progress of any client depends on that client.

Significantly, the end result of coaching often goes beyond the desire for outward success and leads to a greater understanding of the role of personal values, and an ever-deepening sense of personal balance and fulfillment.

Why hire a coach?

There are as many reasons for seeking a coach as there are clients and coaches.

Some typical reasons include:

-- To help the client get organized, so as to get the unimportant stuff out of the way and focus more time and energy on what is truly important to the client.
-- To work on becoming more high profile so that a job well done is better appreciated by supervisors and others in the work hierarchy.
-- To develop better "road maps" at important choice-points in the client's life.
-- To get a source of confidential support through times of turmoil and transition.
-- To access an objective view of life just because it represents a different and unbiased view from the one they have grown up with.
-- Some coaches and clients focus on spiritual growth, considered by spiritual seekers to be the ultimate in personal development coaching.
-- To obtain help in surviving office politics and in improving relationships with their colleagues. (Often for these people, the key to success is learning clear and honest communication skills.)

How I Practice

The focus of my Coaching is to help people develop their natural talents, including emotional intelligence, intuition, and a deep sense of inner calm so that they may craft a life that is more authentic expression of who they really are.

By assisting my clients to discover a deep sense of personal presence while they focus on applying the principles of progressive wellness and personal effectiveness to life and business, I guide them to craft a fuller expression of themselves in all they do.

How I do this is by having my clients center their attention (accessing the natural wisdom of the body as a guide), and then explore the creative power of their own focused intention while they engage in the creative process of defining what they want in life and what they will do to achieve their dreams.

Because of the nature of this discovery process, we often focus on multiple areas of life, like:
-- strengthening their personal foundation;
-- developing personal effectiveness skills;
-- implementing progressive wellness practices like stress management, fitness and diet;
-- exploring emotional intelligence by practicing communication and relating skills;
-- and, bringing everyday spirituality to life, and business, so that their life is a fuller expression of who they are.

What is expected of a coaching client?

The heart of personal coaching is the individualized attention that the coach can give each client. Their work together may be focused on long-term work on personal or career growth, or it may be for short while only, perhaps to help the client achieve a specific goal, or to get through a particularly difficult life transition.

In the case of coaches trained through CoachU (as am I) there is a wide range of existing programs which a coach can access so as to work with special areas that need addressing.

I know that if you hire me it is because you want to get results, in one direction or another.

I expect that if you are ready to make this investment in yourself you are also ready to do some real work.

If we agree on specific goals I ask that you will at least make some serious effort to achieve them. If you can't complete something you've agreed to, we'll talk about what is happening to stop you -- maybe that is where we need to be focusing our attention first.

If I ask you to think about something, then I hope that you will give it your honest and open consideration, but I do not expect that you will accept it blindly.

I believe that coaching should be more about helping the client to learn to make good decisions than about giving advice. Although I may give advice if asked, I prefer to help you to map out your various alternatives, see where each might lead, and always have you make your own decisions.

I expect to serve as a resource, friend, and mentor, but do not expect clients to let themselves get into the position of needing me (or the coaching) as a dependency thing or a fix.

I do not "fix" people--my clients are not broken. You are the one who will find the answers. I will just try to help you to figure out a better road map than you may have had in the past.

I am also currently developing several programs to give clients a jump-start in areas where I have found a frequently occurring need.

These include:
-- Personal Energy Management, a coaching approach to enhancing awareness, clarifying opportunities and responsibilities, and fine-tuning our choice for actions;
-- NBH Progressive Wellness, an innovative, balanced approach to healthy living that focuses on building access to internal wisdom, strengthening one's personal foundation, and tapping a person's natural capacities for well-being, vitality and achievement.
-- and, Financial Organization, a simple approach to personal economics;

The NBH Progressive Wellness program is for people in general and particularly for adults and teenagers who want to substantially improve their level of health self-care and personal performance.

More information on each of these programs can soon be found here on this website, www.Artful-Balance.com.

I'm already successful, why would I need a coach?

You may be surprised to know that coaches are most frequently hired by people who are already successful.

These are people who know the importance of seizing any and every opportunity for improvement.

Think of the winners of an Olympic event. Sometimes the performance of gold and silver medallists are separated by hundredths of a second, but the difference they make to the athletes' reputation is huge. On the other hand, if you are "at the back of the pack" it does not usually make much difference if you are three-hundredths of a second or a whole three seconds in front of the next person.

People who are successful know that having "the edge" is important, and they know that a good coach can help them to have that edge.

How does coaching work?

Arrangements may differ according to the needs of the clients, and the practice of the coach.

Most frequently a coach and client have three or four sessions a month, usually by phone, sometimes face-to-face, occasionally over the internet by e-mail or by one of the real-time message systems.

If I choose to have a free coaching call, what happens?

I will ask you for times that are convenient for a call, we'll set up a time for you to call me, and then we'll have the call.

I'll address whatever issues are of concern to you, and you will find out how my coaching feels, and have a chance to decide whether it may be useful to you.

You will be able to ask questions about coaching procedures, fees, etc. I will explain my procedures in more detail if you wish.

And you may then make a decision, or simply say that you'll get back to me.

A free coaching call is a one-time service I offer to potential clients as a way for us to get to know each other.

Drop me an email or give me a call. I look forward to getting to know you and the unique way we might work together to help you achieve an important goal ....

Warmly,

Jeff
